"Who knew improv comedy and undercover crime could purr so well together? – Angel"
Dear readers (and fellow feline film critics),
Angel here — I found a cozy spot on the couch and got totally caught up in Deep Cover (2025). Orlando Bloom plays Marlon, a washed-up actor who gets pulled into an actual undercover mission. The twist? He thinks it’s all still part of an improv class. Yes, it’s absurd — but oh so watchable.

First Impressions: From the moment Marlon bumbled into danger, I knew this wasn’t your typical undercover thriller. With razor-sharp writing and a surprisingly warm heart, it’s the kind of film that sneaks up on you — like me when it’s treat time.
What I Loved:
• Orlando Bloom’s layered performance — funny, tragic, and charming
• The wild mix of comedy and real stakes
• Bryce Dallas Howard as the improv teacher-turned-handler (what a duo!)
Did You Know?
Bloom and Howard actually took improv workshops together during prep! It helped them build the quirky chemistry you’ll see on screen.
Who Will Love This Movie?
If you love British humor, crime thrillers with a twist, or films that feel like a mashup of Barry, Burn After Reading, and The IT Crowd — you’re in for a treat. Also great for cat parents who enjoy dark comedy while their furball naps beside them.
Angel’s Rating:
Purr-fect
